Privacy Policy
For AppCamp and its apps · Last updated 10 June 2026
The short version: AppCamp builds apps that keep your data on your device. We don't run servers that hold your personal information, we don't track you, and we don't sell anything about you. The one thing we collect is the information needed to sell you a license and give you support — and only that.
AppCamp is a one-person independent app studio run by Jeremy Baker (“AppCamp”, “we”, “I”). This policy explains what data our website and apps do and don't handle. It covers the website at appcamp.com and our apps — WorkoutEditor for iPhone and Legal Message Export for Mac. Where an individual app does something specific, it's called out below.
What we collect
Across everything AppCamp does, here is the complete list of personal information we collect, and why.
| What | When & why |
|---|---|
| Your name, email address, and billing details | Only when you buy a license for Legal Message Export. This is collected and processed by our payment provider so we can take payment, send you a license key, email you a receipt, and provide support or a refund. See “How license purchases work” below. |
| Your email address | Only if you email us (for support, a question, or to be notified when an app launches). We use it to reply, and nothing else. |
| Standard web server logs | When you visit appcamp.com, our web host records ordinary technical access logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested). The site itself runs no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. |
That's the whole list. We do not collect your health data, your messages, the contents of any file you open, your location, your contacts, or any advertising or tracking identifiers. We have no user accounts and no profiles.
WorkoutEditor (iPhone)
WorkoutEditor reads workouts from Apple Health, helps you trim or recover them, and saves a corrected workout back to Apple Health. All of this happens on your iPhone.
- Health data stays on your device. Your workouts, routes, heart-rate and related samples are read, edited, and written entirely on the iPhone. None of it is transmitted to AppCamp or to anyone else, and none of it is collected, stored on a server, or used for any other purpose.
- You control access. The app can only see Health data you explicitly grant on Apple's permission screen, and you can review or revoke that at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
- It never edits your original. The app creates a new, corrected workout and leaves the original untouched. It cannot delete the workouts your Apple Watch recorded — only the Health app can — so when you want the original gone, the app guides you to remove it there yourself.
- No account, no cloud, no tracking. There is no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs in the app.
- Buying the app. WorkoutEditor is a paid app on the App Store. Your purchase is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; AppCamp never receives your payment card details. Apple may make aggregate, non-identifying sales and usage statistics available to us as the developer.
Legal Message Export (Mac)
Legal Message Export turns your iMessage history into a court-ready PDF. The app works entirely on your Mac.
- Your messages never leave your Mac. The app reads your local Messages database, builds its index, and writes the PDF — all locally. Your messages and attachments are never uploaded to AppCamp or anyone else.
- The quiet license check. If you've bought a license, the app verifies it on launch and roughly weekly thereafter by sending only your license key to our license provider. No message content, and nothing about your conversations, is ever sent. It works offline for up to 30 days at a time.
How license purchases work
When you buy a license for Legal Message Export, the checkout and payment are handled by our payment provider and merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy. They collect the information needed to complete the sale — your name, email address, and billing/payment details — process the payment, and handle any applicable sales tax or VAT. AppCamp receives your name, email address, and the licenses tied to your purchase so we can deliver your key, provide support, and process refunds; AppCamp never receives or stores your full payment card number.
Lemon Squeezy's handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
The website
appcamp.com is a plain static website. It sets no tracking or advertising cookies, runs no analytics scripts, and embeds no third-party trackers. Our web host (DreamHost) keeps standard server access logs for security and operational reasons, as essentially all web hosts do.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data and we don't share it for advertising. The only third parties involved are the service providers that make the studio run:
- Lemon Squeezy — payment processing and license delivery for Legal Message Export.
- Apple — distribution and payment for App Store apps, including WorkoutEditor.
- DreamHost — hosting for the website.
Each acts as our service provider for that one purpose, under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep things
We keep purchase records (your name, email, and license details) for as long as needed to support your license and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Emails you send us are kept only as long as useful to help you. The on-device data our apps work with isn't retained by us at all — it stays on your device, under your control.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Because the only personal data we hold is tied to license purchases and email, we can usually act on a request quickly. Just email jeremy@appcamp.com and I'll take care of it. For health or message data, there's nothing for us to delete — it never left your device.
Children
AppCamp's apps and website are not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will be reflected clearly at the top.
